Look with me at this scenario:

Scenario #1: Jimmy works for Chick fil A. Jimmy was asked to sweep and mop the customer dining area, but he doesn't really feel like it. So he goes out to the dining area and sits down looking at his social media notifications. After he is all caught up on whats going on in the world of social media, he then begins to sweep and mop. Because of Jimmy's lack of commitment to the job at hand, he did it very quick...but extremely poorly. Jimmy's boss must now come behind him, show him areas that he missed and he must do it over again. Jimmy's boss has lost a little bit of confidence in him.

Scenario #2: Jimmy works for Chick fil A. Jimmy was asked to sweep and mop the customer dining area. Jimmy knows that even though its not the most glamorous job, he was asked to do it so he will. Jimmy gets started right away. He pays attention to detail and does a remarkable job. Jimmy's boss notices his hard work and says to himself, "If I can trust Jimmy to be diligent mopping the floor, I can trust him with anything."

Proverbs 22:29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

The word diligent in this verse means: quick or prompt.

Those that are quick to jump on a task will be trusted to work before people of importance because they have a good reputation. They will be given more responsibility. They will be trusted by those in command.

There is unlimited potential in those that are diligent.

However, those that are sluggish or that put off a responsibility will only find it hard to be promoted or hold meaningful tasks.

How are you doing? How diligent are you in those tasks that you are asked to do at home? At work? At school?

Determine today that you will be a young adult marked by quick, prompt diligence in life!

You will stand before kings...and even more importantly...you will stand before the King of kings.
