The Outbreak Needing a Remedy

Over the past couple days there has been a crazy outbreak of flu going around. It almost seems like someone took a container containing the flu outbreak and shook it all over the local area.

I am thankful though that with the outbreak of the flu that there is a remedy for it. After taking my kids to see the doctor, the doctor prescribed for us a couple of prescriptions that would begin to help heal. These remedies came from the doctor and at a large cost (out of my pocket :D).

Regardless of the cost, my children needed that remedy.

This outbreak needing a remedy caused me to think about an even larger outbreak. This outbreak was not a physical sickness like the flu. No, this outbreak is much more dangerous. This outbreak is a spiritual sickness. According to Romans 3:23 All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

All have this sickness. And much like the flu, with any sickness there needs to be a remedy if there is to be healing.

We celebrate that remedy this Christmas season. :)

Christ Jesus, the Lord is our remedy. This remedy cost so much, and yet it is free to all.

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

That word propitiation is a fancy word that actually means remedy or atonement.

This Christmas season, I want you to remember three principles:

~If you haven't accepted God's free remedy for your sin problem, accept Him today.

~If you have accepted God's free remedy for your sin problem, never stop praising Him for that.

~If you have accepted God's free remedy for your sin problem, do not hide from those that are still "sick." Share the remedy with them!

Remember, John tells us that Christ is not just the remedy for our sin problem...but also for the entire world.
