Are You Posting? Or Boasting?

Have you ever noticed the empty box on many social media platforms? It normally asks you a question such as, What's on your mind? in hopes that you will post what is on your mind.
Social media is an awesome tool. It used to be that if you wanted to keep up with a friend that is miles away from you that you send them a letter in the mail and then await their response. Crazy, right?
Now, at the tip of your fingers, you can reach out to someone all the way across the world and receive and instant response from them. How cool is that?? Many of you have a social media account. It may be Instagram, snap-chat, twitter, Tiktok, Be Real, or the old one...Facebook.
While these platforms can be used as a great tool, they also can be one of our greatest enemies when it comes to our spiritual walk with the Lord.
1 Corinthians 1:31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
That word glory is really a synonym for the word boast. Paul reminds us that we should never boast about our talents, our abilities, our accomplishments, our material possessions or boast about anything that has to do with us. However, Paul does let you know that you are allowed to boast about one thing: Christ!
You see, all that you have, all that you are and all that you will accomplish is all a gift from the Lord.
So why bring social media into this verse?
Because many times, if we are honest, we find ourselves boasting, instead of posting.
What's on your mind when you go to snap that picture? What is on your mind when you post that comment? What is on your mind when you write that reply?
What should always be on our mind is what your Savior did for you!
Use social media as a platform to tell your followers about the glory of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
What is on your mind? Have you been posting? Or boasting?
